Feast Your Eyes Upon the Fiesta!

 Diffuse (using various photo-overlays, created objects (number plates) and painted texture)
Specular (using my diffuse and the dodge/burn tool to heighten or lower highlights/shaded area)
Normal (extremely basic normal map for small details (like indented writing or tire tread for example))

Unwrapped and Ready for a paint job...

Made the wheel arches, axles and exhaust and optimised the back of the wheel where faces can't be seen from human height as this car is just sitting in a carpark and won't need them.

Finished the main shell of car.

Turned my "bitty" shell into a single mesh

Filling the Gaps

I have decided to deviate from my original plan of doing the windows, lights..etc.. as separate pieces in an effort to keep PC down and to make it all one single mesh.

Gettin down low!

Taken some edge loops out the wheels leaving me 308 under the PC for this assignment. Should be enough to work with for the wheel arches, windows and vents providing i only texture them in.

Lowering Pcount and Adding wheels


As is probably relatively obvious, i haven't added lights, windows or vents yet and my PolyCount is pretty much bang on. Which means i need to get rid of more, however i think i've hit my limit on removing them from the outer shell so i need to try to get rid of more from my wheels (already removed about 50 polys from wheels and 400 from body). Still building this car is almost finished now, then it's just time for the painstaking UV and texturing (texturing not being the painstaking bit)

Wheely week



 Tweaked the body work to line up with the blueprints a little better (bonnet wasn't convex).




Ford Fiesta wheel reference face on.
 Spokes extruded out.
Wheel rim fitted.








From behind, i've added a ridge (visible on reference) that the spokes sit on. (Still needs a lot of tweaking...)

Textured!

As stated on the brief this texture is 512x512.

Bin prop made

Created a bin like the one on the side of Block 2 and UV unwrapped it.
Need to make the textures for it now.

UV of lowest detail level

 Sorted out and lined up so that i know which side is attached to which...

Clipped together with all touching UV's joined together so it's a single UV.





The second and more intrecate building i've made a start on the UV unwrap (though this is the seconds time i've built this one as i messed up the structure)

To get some reference for the style and size of the building, plus exterior shapes I've taken some photos of the side. This is mostly to give me an idea of how to texture it and to decide on which props to make.

Need to pick up the pace...

Been mostly working on character as it had been neglected, however i have modeled the back of the car.

Added this to the main body now.


  Filled in the gaps around the filler cap and started to go round the windows and back lights.
